About the Doctors
Kenneth Holman, DDS
Dr. Kenneth Holman has practiced orthodontics in Redwood City for over 25 years. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1969. After graduating, he attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, where he was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society, and where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In 1975 he earned his orthodontic certificate from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Holman stays abreast of the latest technological advances in orthodontics with active memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, San Mateo Dental Society, California Association of Orthodontists and Mid Peninsula Dental Society (Associate Member). He also participates in several dental and orthodontic related study clubs.
Dr. Holman also specializes in dentofacial orthopedics (growth and development) and in Temporomandibular Joint (jaw joint) disorders. He also works closely with the Stanford Sleep Disorders Clinic as an orthodontic consultant. In his free time, Dr. Holman enjoys music, swimming and sports. Dr. Holman is married and has two children. During his childhood he had aspirations of becoming a classical composer.
Stephen Yang, DMD, MS
Dr. Stephen Yang grew up in the Bay Area and attended the University of California at Los Angeles where he received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Yang attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he completed his thesis and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. As his goal was to practice orthodontics, Dr. Yang then moved to Los Angeles and completed his orthodontic training at the University of Southern California. While at USC, he also obtained a Masters of Science in Craniofacial Biology for his work on one phase versus two phase treatment in patients with large overbites.
Dr. Yang is a Board Certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, San Mateo County Dental Society, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association.
Besides practicing orthodontics, he is also a writer and Senior Editor for Bracesquestions.com; he writes and reviews articles on braces and Invisalign treatment.
In his free time Dr. Yang likes playing basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, and snowboarding. He indulges in a variety of other activities including photography, painting, singing, and playing guitar. He is an intermediate balloon sculptor and enjoys making balloon animals. Dr. Yang also volunteers for the American Diabetes Association where he helps plan local fundraising events.
Anitha Nair, DDS
Dr. Anitha Nair has been with our practice since 2002. She completed her Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Loma Linda University in March 2000. She also received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), International Dentistry Program from Loma Linda University in 1996. While in her DDS program, she was awarded the “Achievement in Clinical Excellence.”
Prior to coming to the United States, she completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the Madras Dental College in Madras, India. She practiced General Dentistry between 1990 and 1992, while also teaching in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics at Saveetha Dental College in Madras.
Dr. Nair is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, San Mateo County Dental Society and California Association of Orthodontists. She is married with two children, and, apart from orthodontics, she also enjoys gardening, jewelry making, cooking and doing craft projects with her daughter.
Dr. Holman, Dr. Yang, and Dr. Nair are all certified in the Invisalign technique.
